SummaryVarex Imaging is looking for a Software Engineer - Medical Imaging Applications to join our Rochester, NY facility. The successful candidate will become a member of our close-knit team and will immediately begin making an impact by developing and maintaining our cutting-edge software products in medical and veterinary imaging.
Job Description
Core responsibilities for the Software Engineer will be to analyze, design, program, and debug software enhancements within new and existing products used in medical, veterinary, and other imaging fields. Code will be used in commercial or end-user applications. Using current programming languages and technologies, the engineer will write code and perform debugging of applications using good documentation practices. Collaboration with the test team will be necessary to define improvements and isolate defects. Interaction with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications may also be required.
Minimum Required Skills & Knowledge:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of related experience (described below)
Very strong technical ability and knowledge in Windows and Web development
Extensive experience with HTML5, ASP.NET MVC, Javascript/jQuery, Ajax, CSS, and responsive UI design
Experience with general Source Control and Issue Tracking practices
Visual Studio experience necessary
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
Master's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience), plus 3+ years of minimum required experience listed
Experience with C# .NET in Application and/or Server-side development
Experience with general database concepts with some focus on SQL Server and Entity Framework
Experience designing and debugging multi-user scenarios in web development
Exposure to analysis and improvement of web application performance
Some familiarity with SignalR
Some familiarity with DICOM
Experience with React a plus
Exposure to build pipeline configuration

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
