DRTV Media Planner and Strategist
Martino Flynn is seeking energetic, self-motivated candidates with at least seven years of experience for a DRTV Media Planner and Strategist position in the Media department in our Pittsford, NY office.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop DRTV media strategy for clients and prospects.
Prepare media plans and schedules, within allowables, to achieve financial objectives.
Confidently present media plans and schedules to agency clients.
Understand how all media tactics fit in the plan(s).
Be a resource for agency account team and clients as well as other teams.
Plan and steward media schedules/budgets for clients.
Manage buyers and/or negotiate/buy.
Research as needed.
Remain current on media trends.
Ongoing analysis and evaluation of media tactics, media outlets, proposals, client/prospect plans, and client campaigns.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of results reports and analysis.
Maintain positive relations with agency partners and media representatives.
Project accurate audience delivery for clients as needed.
Regularly solicit and evaluate value-added opportunities for clients.
Stay updated on market conditions, price fluctuations, changes in viewing patterns, station changes, etc.
Maintain up-to-date media information (costs, coverage, audience, etc.)
Inspire confidence in clients, agency staff, and media reps.
Skills Needed
DRTV media planning and strategy.
Solid communication skills - both written and verbal.
The ability to create effective, actionable, polished PPT presentations and deliver them with confidence.
Account service experience/direct client contact.
Articulate ideas well and support positions effectively.
Working knowledge of all media tactics.
Be a good listener and receptive to the ideas of others.
Give directions clearly and effectively.
Plan and organize work well.
Strong negotiating skills.
Strong math skills.
Have a sense of urgency. Work well under pressure.
Ability to handle a large volume of work efficiently and effectively.


Qualifications
Minimum of seven years experience at a DRTV buying firm or in the media department of an ad agency working with a DRTV buying firm.
Experience working with consumer and B2B preferred.
Hands-on experience with media software (i.e. Core, Strata, etc.)
Working knowledge of all Microsoft products.
Account service experience/direct client contact.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
