IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:
Director of Student Services
CERTIFICATION:
Permanent or professional NYS certification as School Psychologist, School Counselor, Special Education or closely related area.
Qualifications:
Tenured in one of the certification areas listed above, with excellent communication, facilitation, time management and interpersonal skills. Exceptional ability to model and communicate how to intervene and deescalate student behavior.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
Assists students, staff and parents in enabling students to derive the fullest potential educational experience from school by promoting positive self-esteem and resilience, and providing suggested methods and plans for overcoming academic and/or social emotional delays and emotional dysregulation that manifests in behaviors that interfere with learning.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Instructional:

Generate and implement prevention and intervention programs to support the learning, behavioral, emotional and social development for students.

Facilitate the development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students to meet their emotional, behavioral and social needs.

Provide individual and/or group interventions for students as appropriate, including social-emotional supports (e.g., training in emotional regulation skills).

Participate as a team member in referring students who require further evaluation or follow-up services to the appropriate school personnel or community agencies.

Provide recommendations for instructional techniques, modifications, adaptations, and materials based on the unique needs of individual students.

Provide direct support to students/teams during times of school-based crisis.
Operational :

Plan and confer with the classroom teachers concerning learning, behavioral, social needs affecting the students.

Collaborate as part of interdisciplinary teams to provide learning, behavioral and social emotional supports on an ongoing basis.

Assist with problem solving with teachers, psychologists, other school personnel and other appropriate professionals.

Assist faculty and staff with the development of student crisis prevention and intervention plans as appropriate

Provide training and ongoing support to staff involved in implementing learning interventions and behavior intervention plans, including training on classroom management techniques, response to intervention, positive behavioral supports, and emergency interventions

Provide training, consultation and ongoing support for paraprofessionals in the areas of behavior management skills and effective educational strategies

Engage in regular contact and consultation with appropriate personnel and providing support to intervention teams.

Assist teams in the evaluation of student progress related to referral concerns, using progress monitoring techniques and program evaluation methods

Develop and maintain behavioral data

Coordinate and conduct parent education regarding educational, behavioral and/or social emotional needs, as appropriate
Communication:

Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff, students, parents and community

Consult with private/outside providers as appropriate related to referral concerns, as needed

Assist parents in locating and obtaining community resources available for students with significant behavioral concerns

Assist in developing and maintaining home-school relations in crises

Assist in the development and implementation of reporting systems to parents regarding individual student plans

Complete appropriate reports for the District as necessary

Perform other reasonably related responsibilities as determined by the Director of Student Services.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
